Steve Hohman
Creative Director/ Lead Teaching Artist
As a professional improvisational actor, Steve Hohman has been part of The National Comedy Theatre’s MainStage cast since 2011, San Diego’s longest running theatrical show. In addition, he works as a teaching artist and Managing Director for the organization. Steve has also honed his improv skills with the prestigious Upright Citizens Brigade (LA). His dedication to this artform has enabled him to travel and perform throughout the country and as far away as the Virgin Islands.
As a teaching artist, Steve is currently on Segerstrom Center for the Arts’ Arts Teach roster and has taught with many arts education organizations throughout Southern California- The Old Globe; Playwrights Project; Junior Theatre (San Diego) and All the Arts for All the Kids (Fullerton). Steve graduated from San Diego State University where he received Bachelor’s of Art degrees in Theatre Arts and Communications (Media Management).
Olivia Espinosa
Director of Education/ Teaching Artist
A bilingual teaching artist, actor, playwright and director, Olivia graduated from San Diego State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Theatre Arts and combines all of these skills to create a well-rounded approach to teaching.
For over 12 years her work as a teaching artist has revolved around theatre arts and playwriting, teaching residencies throughout San Diego county, in detention facilities, group homes for foster youth and at SDSU. In addition, as a Program Manager for education organizations like Playwrights Project (San Diego) and Segerstrom Center for the Arts (Costa Mesa), Olivia understands the importance of arts in the classroom and creating sustainable programs for students of all ages.
Olivia is a member of Native Voices at the Autry Artist Ensemble in Los Angeles where she helped launch and direct the ensemble play Stories from the Indian Boarding School. In 2017, she was the proud recipient of Oregon Shakespeare Festival’s most prestigious award- The Phil Killian Directing Fellowship, where she assisted Artist Director, Bill Rauch.
